WAIMANGU VOLCANIC VALLEY

'The world's youngest geothermal system'
TripAdvisor Reviews rate Waimangu No 1 attraction in Rotorua

"A highlight of NZ. One of the best North Island experiences.  Amazing, unique and gorgeous. Go at your own pace and soak it in. Make sure you take the extra time and effort to climb to Mt. Haszard to see the blue lake. It is out of this world. At the end of the walk which takes about 3 hours with the detour and tons of pictures you can get a free bus back to the parking lot. We went in April and saw only a few other people. The signs and brochure are very informative. Also, unlike Rotorua itself, this place does not smell. The price is reasonable too especially for NZ."     12 May 2012, BostonGirl88, USA
